- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★The security guard and employees always are friendly, knowledgable and treat me with respect. I realize their job is difficult. So I give some slack if my user experience isn't 100%. - ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆I have always had excellent service from social security employees. But today was an exception. I arrived at the Rockville office prepared and willing to wait. But I wasn't prepared for an administrator with an attitude. She didn't seem as if she wanted to help me figure out my problem. She told me I could return to her window (#2) when I filled out my form, then left as I approached the window. Someone later told me she had gone to lunch-- without having the courtesy to tell me I could get help from anyone since I had already waited for my turn. When she returned about 30 minutes later and I was still waiting, she scolded me for not checking with someone else, rather than a simple, I'm sorry you had to wait. And even after that, she behaved as if helping me was a very large burden. Maybe this was a bad day for her, but I expect and have usually experienced better from SSA employees.By alice buhl, April 30, 2017

- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Yes, there are wait times. Prepare for it. The staff works very hard to meet the needs of those they serve. They are helpful, cheerful and competent. In a telephone SS call I was advised to bring my necessary forms filled out but I was not told to bring one essential document. So, the staff allowed me to make an appointment for a return visit so I would not have to wait again. They were great! These public servants do the best they can with what they are given.
