  Beware of Apex Home Loans and their deceptive practices. My Wife and I contacted them about refinancing our Home Loan. Apex had helped my Wife 3 years ago with the purchase of her home, and now it was time for us to refinance to get her Dad off the Mortgage and get me on it. The first Broker we were working with just quit contacting us. About 2 weeks later we were contacted by Michael, apologizing for us being left in limbo, and he would see to it that we were taken care of all the way through. The next day we emailed him information, but he was out of town, so we were passed off to another Broker. Each time we were assigned to a New Broker, we discussed our plans again, to refinance in order to take my Father-in-Law off the Mortgage and take some money out to pay for some projects around the house. We were sent a Good Faith Estimate that included Fees that were still being worked on. Additionally, the Estimate said this was for a straight refinance transaction. When we questioned this, we were told not to worry about since the final Docs would be correct. Based on their advice, we decided to move forward, and paid for the Appraisal that was required. After the Appraisal was done, we were sent another Good Faith Estimate in which the Transfer Taxes had gone up. We were told this was due to taking my FIL off the Mortgage and it being changed to a Cash-out transaction. We had told them all along this was the intent and even questioned the first Estimate we received. We continued working with them to see what the final figures would look like once all the other Fees were adjusted, and now our Rate Lock is running out, and they do not have all the Paperwork ready to close. I asked, and was told if the Lock ran out, the Rate would be .0125 higher based on current conditions. I would not recommend them, because there are plenty of Mortgage Companies and Brokers that want/deserve our business, so there is no reason for a company to provide such a poor level of Service. We've been strung along, and given the run around for 3 Months. We paid for an Appraisal to be done, then were told our closing Fees were going to be higher. This is a "Bait and Switch" which is illegal. Also, during this transaction, it was brought to our attention that Documentation was not filed properly with the State when the Loan was done 3 Years ago. Instead of helping to fix the error that they caused, we were sent a Link to a website for us to fix it ourselves.

  Apex Home Loads was above outstanding. I wish I could give them higher than 5 stars. They went so far above and beyond to ensure a smooth process with my mortgage. There was an issue with my credit that was bringing my credit score down. They gave me a list of steps to follow in order to get a claim on my credit removed which resulted in greatly improving my credit score and ultimately getting a better mortgage rate, saving me THOUSANDS over the life of the loan. Jon Ingram, Amy Smith, and Gloria Benitez did a fantastic job answering my million questions and giving me a ton of guidance on how to fill out the many documents and meet my deadlines. I will 100% use them again in the future and will recommend their services to anyone I know in need. Thanks!
